Glyn, Toria and I played a set at the housewarming party of one of my friends a couple of weeks ago.  The initial "background" music was drum and bass after which our set was, shall we say, "something completely different".  This past weekend, whilst jokingly refering back to this, Glyn then attempted to show us what the drum and bass version of "Sweet Bells" might sound like !  Enjoy :)"

An excerpt from a post-gig session in Ro's living room. This is a traditional carol from South Yorkshire which I grew up listening to. It was a pretty lively gig, and the crowd were the most enthusiastic that I've ever played to. So much so that at one point when some girl called "We love you!", I was so taken aback that all I could reply was ".. Steady on... we are British, you know".

While shepherds watched,
Their flocks by night,
All seated on the ground,
The angel of the Lord came down,
And glory shone around.

Sweet Bells, Sweet chiming Christmas Bells
Sweet Bells, Sweet chiming Christmas Bells
They cheer us on our Heavenly way sweet chiming bells.
They cheer us on our Heavenly way sweet chiming bells.

“Fear not,” said he,
For mighty dread,
Had seized their troubled minds,
“Glad tidings of great joy I bring,
To you and all mankind”.

“To you in David's,
Town this day,
Is born of David's line.
The Savior who is Christ the Lord,
And this shall be the sign.”

“All glory be to,
God on high,
And to the earth, the earth be peace,
Goodwill henceforth,
From heaven to men,
Begin and never cease”

[Repeat first verse]

[Chorus x2]
